A More Meaning Full Path Forward

A More Meaning Full Path Forward

I started this in November...it’s January. So, there’s that. Like I said, a lot has happened since October, stay with me as I catch you up.

It’s likely apparent by the lack of posting that there’s a lot happening in Namasdre land. While moving forward, being busy, is good but it’s nice to have time to reset, reconnect, and recharge. As luck, or the universe, would have it Christen Bakken hosted an October retreat to focus on those exact ideas.

Having never actually *seen* a mountain up close I jumped at the opportunity to spend a weekend in Fraser doing yoga, reflecting, and drinking wine. NamasDrew and I packed up the Rav4 following his 545 am sculpt class, stocked with snacks provided by MG, we headed west. After playing delightful road trip games, fighting over music selection, an unfortunate line situation at an Arby’s, and his REFUSAL to stop at the second friendliest yarn store in America or a Wine and Cheese super store, we spotted a mountain. Like, a for real mountain, and I was instantly in love.

I was in love with the beautiful scenery and the idea of the weekend. Christen’s Meaning Full Retreat was going to be focused on stepping back from our daily lives, reconnecting to our core, and figuring out how we move forward. Aside from yoga and hiking we were going to spend mornings in silence, journaling, and working on our Meaning Full Manifesto. We did a reset on our diets by eating wholesome veggie based meals and yes, wine was included. I was introduced to the magic of the Animal Spirit deck. Spoiler Alert: I’m obsessed. It took a bit of adjusting to the altitude but after figuring out how to literally catch my breath I was able to take some time to actually catch my breath. Through building my personal Meaning Full Manifesto I was able to reflect on the things that matter to me and how to build a purposeful life. In Fraser I was could step back from just going, pushing, moving and figure out how to move forward with true direction and drive. I was able to rediscover my why.

I’m a firm believer in things happening in my life when they should and I know I needed this weekend to fall when it did. I needed someone to ask me to think about the things I push off because I can focus on producing or checking things off my list. But I did get to see a mountain up close, so in the midst of my mindful weekend I was able to check something off my bucket list.
